Our Story (Lily and Lin):

I still remember the dire financial situation Lily and I were in about 5 years ago. Due to certain work and financial extremities, we lost our home in Los Angeles, drained our savings account to a point where we were surviving on payday loans and on top of that we had a 2 year old son and another little baby girl on the way. It was definitely one of the most challenging times of our life. Some nights I would lie in bed, look at Lily in the eyes and just didn’t know what to do. I thought we were going to lose everything.

Desperate to find some light, I started looking for businesses to start with very little upfront capital. It seemed every opportunity we came across or read about seemed too good to be true or was just a flat out scam until we came across a magazine article about a stay at home mom that resells Amazon returns from her garage and was making a healthy profit. Intrigued, I took the last of our money in our checking account of $240 and bought a box of Amazon returns and started a reselling business in our garage. 

What came next was overwhelming. It looked so easy in the magazine, but we quickly learned that reselling profitably on eBay and Facebook Marketplace was very difficult without any guidance or training. On top of that sourcing and locating profitable inventory on a consistent basis was also a challenge. But we stuck with it and over the next few months we started to generate several thousands of dollars per month in sales. After about 6 months we were clearing over $20,000 per month in sales and profiting $5,000 to $10,000 and after 1 year we were on our way to doing well over a million dollars a year in sales. 

What We Did after 4 Months

The sheer joy and emotions of overcoming a major financial hurdle and building a multimillion dollar reselling business together as a family, at home, in the garage, with a $240 initial investment is a feeling I would never forget.
